Since its announcement, the new series Class has been drawing attention. High expectations were placed on the series, which is an Indian adaptation of the Spanish television programme "Elite." Whether the series would be adapted as well as the original puzzled online users.
Elite covers drama-related ideas and themes, but it also presents more modern problems and alternate perspectives on its cliches. These include a wide range of sexual themes.
The show is structured in a way that uses a flash-forward plot with a mystery component, with each season taking place in two timelines.
Let's remember that it's 2023 and that, at least in major cities, people in our country are generally thinking beyond class and caste before you continue reading.
About Class
Class, which is set in Delhi, uses the wealth gap in metropolitan India as its backdrop. The three characters Dheeraj, Bali, and Saba are portrayed as Hampton's newest scholarship students who stand out from their wealthier and more privileged classmates.
The two different worlds collide as they try to fit in, causing friendships to fall apart and one child's death. The police are summoned, and an inquiry is launched as each person is labelled as a suspect.
While Balram "Balli" Patwal (Cwaayal Singh) thinks his English is like a "bullet train" and aspires to be a model, Dheeraj Valmiki (Piyush Khati) is a diligent student who wants to escape poverty. The third, played by Madhyama Segal, is Saba Manzoor, the obedient daughter of Kashmiri immigrants who wants to work as a foreign ambassador. When Suhani Ahuja (Anjali Sivaraman), a wealthy student, dies, their time at Hampton comes to an abrupt end.
Cast:
The ensemble cast of Class, a coming-of-age drama with a mystery at its core, includes Gurfateh Pirzada, Anjali Sivaraman, Ayesha Kanga, Chayan Chopra, Chintan Rachchh, Cwaayal Singh, Madhyama Segal, Moses Koul, Naina Bhan, Piyush Khati, and Zeyn Shaw.
Netizens Reaction:
Despite the fact that many had high hopes for the series, many did not anticipate it to match the quality of the original. They posted their thoughts on Twitter after watching Class. The series rips into the opulent Hamptons International, a school that serves as a hideout for the ruthless and oppressive schemes of Delhi's upper class.
Many users found the depiction of the income disparity offensive; they claimed the show was "caught up" on the idea of the "caste system" when in fact nothing such occurs now.
People also criticised the representation of the school as being "unrealistic."
Although some have said that it is a fairly close "rip off" of Elite, it still does not meet the standards of a purportedly posh school in Delhi.

The obsession with caste system in class netflix 2023 is so irritating lol no gaf abt u if u r poor no one is gonna be hung up on ur caste like that. The police brutality towards gay people was true tho but the public sex was unrealistic especially for gay men.#ClassOnNetflix

Whatever happened to making original content ?
watch Class on Netflix for a local conceptualisation of Euphoria. It has all the same ingredients: drugs, sex and social media in a Delhi high school, mental health battles, dirty family secrets, inter-religious and -caste and queer relationships. peak ¡°elite modern India¡± scenes

Casteism is a significant and pervasive social problem that should be addressed, not trivialised
Stereotypes are being created rather than being destroyed in the series
Extreme disappointment@NetflixIndia
Watched the first 'Class' episode on Netflix unfortunately. I've seen toilet cleaner commercials more emotionally stimulating, how are people getting paid to make stuff like this ??

Not enough Class (Netflix show) discourse on the TL. But it's exactly how I would imagine someone from Bombay thinking of elite private schools in Delhi

Class on Netflix is so cringe, omg. I might just have to go and rewatch Elite to wash the taste out of my eyes

Although it is true that many schools in the capital may not accept students from less privileged backgrounds, if they do, 'indifferent' behaviour and conflicts to the point where bullying crosses the line will undoubtedly not be accepted.
Well to add, many liked the series too but because of GOOD LOOKS, GOOD LOOKS AND GOOD LOOKS!
Rajesh Devraj, Kersi Khambatta, Raghav Kakkar, Kashyap Kapoor, and Bhaskar Hazarika wrote the script for the Indian adaptation.
The seventh season of the Spanish-language Netflix programme Elite, which had its sixth season premiere in November 2022, has now been ordered.
