There was a lot of hoopla around Laal Singh Chaddha's release on OTT. The big discussion on whether it will premier soon after its theatrical window or six months from the date of its release, has come to a conclusion.
Looks like, the makers want to recover the lost money with the help of OTT and chose to decline Aamir Khan's request for a 6-month gap.

The Dangal Actor Spoke About A 6-Month Gap In A Previous Interview
Aamir Khan spoke to Galatta Plus in an interview to promote Laal Singh Chaddha, he said, "OTT is not a challenge to the cinema but we are actually making it a challenge. What we are saying is our films releasing in theatres, but you don¡¯t really need to come. Because in a few weeks you can see it at home. How do you expect people to come to theatres?¡±

#Boycott Trend Affected Laal Singh Chaddha
Laal Singh Chaddha, a film starring Aamir Khan, has garnered a lot of media attention. The film was highly anticipated, however, it turned out to be a flop, courtesy the #Boycott trend. As we previously mentioned, it was rumoured that numerous OTT Giants had declined to purchase the movie owing to its poor big-screen reception. In the wake of the movie's Chinese release, Aamir Khan was in favour of Laal Singh Chaddha making its OTT debut on Netflix only after six months.
When the movie bombed, the streamer reportedly decreased its offer to Rs. 50 crores, which wasn't how Aamir had imagined the scenario would develop. The streamer was prepared to offer Rs. 80¨C90 crores.

I wonder how the multiplexes will feel about this, they were probably relying on people like Aamir Khan to encourage other filmmakers to prioritize theatre releases @INOXMovies @_PVRCinemas @bookmyshow

I guess the original streaming deal was contingent on LSC's box office success so probably fell through and they've just settled for a less than 2 month OTT release to at least secure some amount of return on investment.. I thought Aamir sir would have more integrity than that ??¡â?

When it comes to the plot of this Bollywood remake, Laal Singh Chaddha, there aren't many shocks, but its virtues lie elsewhere. The narrative alternately replicates and remixes Forrest Gump's core elements, including the flying feather, Laal's golgappe, the running sequences, and the narrator's first love. The movie makes its goals known right away, paying Forrest Gump the utmost respect while forging its own course.
Laal Singh Chaddha is available to stream on Netflix.
