Sanam Teri Kasam OTT Release: Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane made their Bollywood debut with this 2016 film which was sadly a flop at the box office. However, the romantic saga saw a re-release in theatres on 7th February 2025 and the early figures are worth the hype. Sanam Teri Kasam's plot summary
A successful lawyer Inder recalls his past with Saru, a traditional librarian. Saru is rejected by suitors, and Inder, an ex-convict, falls in love with her. They face misunderstandings, and Saru's family disowns her. Inder helps Saru change her image, but after a failed relationship with another man, Saru and Inder grow closer. Saru later reveals she has terminal cancer. Despite their struggles, they eventually confess their love but Saru dies in Inder's arms leaving the latter scarred for life.
Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release update
Sanam Teri Kasam earned a lifetime total of Rs 9.1 crore net during its original run in 2016 and this time within just two days, it has grossed 10.14 crore. The film has even beaten the opening numbers of new releases like Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar and the internet is happy that the saga is finally getting its commercial due though it has already emerged as a cult classic over the years.
Other than Harshvardhan and Mawra, Sanam Teri Kasam also starred Anurag Sinha, Manish Chaudhari, Murli Sharma and Sudesh Berry in key roles. A modern rendition of the legends of Shiva-Sati, the romantic is loosely inspired by the novel Love Story by Eric Segal and was written and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. This one's a Deepak Mukut production.
