Elon Musk hits pause on Donald Trump feud after X clash〞Ackman steps in, White House pushes for resolution
After a heated online clash with Donald Trump, Elon Musk appears to be softening his stance. Following public exchanges over policy criticism, spacecraft threats, and contract tension, both sides may now be heading toward a truce, with a White House call in the works.

Elon Musk has indicated that he might scale back his public disagreement with U.S. President Donald Trump, following days of escalating comments exchanged through social media and public statements. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO*s remarks came after significant online activity related to his criticism of Trump*s economic policies and the U.S. government*s contract relationship with SpaceX.
Musk responds to advice, reverses dragon decision
On Thursday, Musk had posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he would retire SpaceX*s Dragon spacecraft 〞 a system used by NASA 〞 in response to Trump*s comments about possibly canceling government contracts with Musk*s businesses. However, after another X user suggested both parties should "cool off," Musk replied, ※Good advice. Ok, we won*t decommission Dragon.§ This message hinted at a more reconciliatory tone from the entrepreneur.

Ackman*s plea for peace gains Musk*s nod
Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman also stepped into the situation, publicly suggesting on X that both Trump and Musk should settle their differences ※for the benefit of our great country.§ Musk responded, ※You*re not wrong,§ implying support for the idea of reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Trump has continued to speak publicly about the matter, though with less intensity. In an exchange with Politico, the former president downplayed the tension, saying, ※Oh it*s OK,§ when asked about the situation with Musk. He added, ※It*s going very well, never done better,§ referencing his poll numbers, which he claimed were at an all-time high.
Trump also posted on Truth Social, acknowledging Musk*s criticism, but with a softer tone. ※I don*t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago,§ he wrote. He went on to praise his proposed tax legislation as ※one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress.§
With cooler tones emerging, Musk and Trump may now be shifting from confrontation toward compromise as policy takes priority.
