Sankranthiki Vasthunam OTT release date Zee5: When to watch Venkatesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary's Telugu film
After several weeks of immense buzz, Venkatesh's latest blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunam is seemingly ready for its OTT debut. Here's everything you need to know about the film before it lands on Zee 5.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam OTT Release Date: Venkatesh recently headlined a Telugu film which despite going strong in theatres, has been anticipated to arrive on OTT. While there were rumours that producer Dil Raju is trying his best to push the digital dates considering its overwhelming theatrical run, a latest Times Now report suggests that as per the already-signed deal, Sankranthiki Vasthunam is going to stream on Zee 5 from February 20, 2025, in Telugu and Tamil.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam plot summary
Y.D. Raju, a former deputy commissioner of police, is asked by his ex-girlfriend, ACP Meenakshi, to help find Satya Akella, the CEO of a big global company, who was kidnapped by a gang from the farmhouse of the state's ruling party president. Raju agrees to take on the mission from the Chief Minister, Kesava, and teams up with Meenakshi to rescue Satya.
However, things get complicated when Raju's wife, Bhagyam, joins them because she thinks Raju might leave her for Meenakshi, leading to a mix of funny and action-packed situations. Released on 14th January 2025, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has so far earned Rs 240 crore worldwide.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam's review
A part of The Hindu's review read, ¡°Some of the humour in the initial portions that border on adult comedy and a later scene, involving a gag about same-sex relationship, seems out of place in a so-called family entertainer. Sankranthiki Vasthunam does not take itself seriously. Some portions of the humour in the film might be absurd and tiresome, but the movie largely works as a fun outing.¡±
Other than Venkatesh, this Anil Ravipudi directorial also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Aishwarya Rajesh, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Srinivasa Reddy, P. Sai Kumar, Upendra Limaye, Naresh, VTV Ganesh and Srinivas Avasarala among others. The film is a Bheems Ceciroleo musical cinematographed by Sameer Reddy and edited by Tammiraju.
