Netflix shared a teaser clip while announcing the date for the upcoming season in early August this year. There will also be a final season of the thriller drama that will be released in 2025.
Plot
The official description of the upcoming season by Netflix on YouTube also had a letter from the director, writer, and executive producer of ¡®Squid Game¡¯, Hwang Dong-hyuk, which said, "Seong Gi-hun, who vowed revenge at the end of Season 1, returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man doesn¡¯t seem to be an easy opponent this time either."
He added, "The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year. I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow."

As the announcement and the teaser clip were making the rounds on the internet, fans were seen getting excited about the show.

As per information from Netflix, other than the character of Gi-hun, familiar faces from Squid Game season 1 will include Front Man played by Lee Byung-hun, the leader of the masked staff behind the game; Hwang Jun-ho played by Wi Ha-jun, a detective who sneaks into the game in search of his brother; and the Recruiter played by Gong Yoo.
