They arrive with little money, no jobs, and can't speak the local language well.

Tourist Family opened to modest expectations but quickly gained momentum due to its heartfelt storytelling and strong performances. The film grossed ?2.35 crore on its opening day and maintained a steady upward trajectory over the following days. By the end of its first week, it had accumulated around ?23.3 crore in India, with a total worldwide gross nearing ?19 crore.

As of May 28, 2025, the film's worldwide gross had reached ?82.46 crore, including ?58.39 crore from Tamil Nadu, ?15 crore from other domestic markets, and ?15.1 crore from overseas collections. This impressive performance places Tourist Family as the fifth highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025.
