Gladiator II cast and crew
Directed and co-produced by Ridley Scott, Gladiator II has been written by David Scarpa from a story he penned with Peter Craig. It¡¯s a sequel to Gladiator (2000) bankrolled by Scott Free Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Other than Paul and Pedro, it also stars Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington. While many of them have reprised their characters from the first part, Mescal has replaced Spencer Treat Clark.
Gladiator II plot summary
Gladiator II carries on the larger-than-life story of power, betrayal, and revenge in the backdrop of Ancient Rome. Years later, Lucius (played by Paul Mescal) is compelled to participate in the Colosseum games after the oppressive Emperors take over his residence following the demise of his beloved hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle.
Filled with anger and the destiny of the Empire on the line, Lucius must dive into his history to rediscover courage and integrity to restore the prestige of Rome to its citizens. While we cannot say more than this about the plot as Gladiator II awaits its release in the US on November 22 and we would like the suspense to continue building up.
