If you love Japanese anime then there¡¯s a treat in store for you this week. Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is premiering on Netflix on October 17, 2024. This English-language 6-episode series has been in the news for a long time and is finally around the corner. This one¡¯s an Erasmus Brosdau directorial.
Plot
Set in the later phase of the One Year War, the story focuses on Iria Sorari who is a pilot from the Principality of Zeon belonging to the Red Wolves unit. He is assigned to protect the European front from the Earth Federation Forces' who are on a mission to recapture the territory. A little more than this would act as a spoiler so we will leave it to you for a great watch over the weekend.
Cast and crew
Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance has been co-produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks and SAFEHOUSE. This series is a part of the Gundam franchise and is the second production to be done entirely in computer animation since Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO. Both written and co-executive produced by Gavin Hignight, the mechanical designs have been done by Kimitoshi Yamane and the character designs by Manuel Augusto Dischinger Moura.
Hiroaki Yura has done the animation production and sound direction of Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. Coming to the character voice then Iria Solari has been voiced by Nanako Mori (Japanese) and Celia Massingham (English), Kneeland LeSean by Sh¨ya Ishige (Japanese) and Lavance (English), Reid "Chubs" Ghelfi by Shunichi Maki (Japanese) and James Watt (English) among others.
For the uninitiated, Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is the first series animated using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 and its music has been done by Wilbert Roget II.
