Wicked OTT Release Date: Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande recently headlined a musical fantasy which went on to become an all-time box office blockbuster. Released theatrically on November 22, 2024, the film earned close to $730 million globally. Not just that, Wicked has also won big at the recently held 97th Academy Awards. When and where to watch Wicked in India?

Indian audiences can watch Wicked on JioHotstar starting March 22, 2025. Audiences outside India can also find the film on Peacock from March 21. Made against the budget of $150 million, Wicked emerged as the highest-grossing Oz film, the highest-grossing musical film adaptation and the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2024.

Directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, Wicked adapts the first act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of the Oz books and the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. Universal Pictures and Marc Platt have jointly produced this Oscar-winning saga.

For the unversed, Wicked was nominated in 10 Oscar categories this year but took home two - Best Costume Design for Paul Tazewell and Best Production Design for Lee Sandeles and Nathan Crowley. Tazewell's win was particularly historic, as he became the first Black man to win an Oscar in the Costume Design category.

Other than Cynthia and Ariana, Wicked also stars Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum in key roles. A sequel titled Wicked: For Good covering the musical's second act will release theatrically on November 21, 2025.
