It all began with Musk publicly criticising Trump¡¯s ¡°Big Beautiful¡± bill on X, which was reportedly the tipping point for the rift. In retaliation, Trump posted a furious message on Truth Social, suggesting the best way to save ¡°billions and billions¡± in government spending would be to cancel Musk¡¯s federal contracts and subsidies. He even questioned why his predecessor had not done so.
