"Well, it's something that I face on a daily basis. When fans ask me why I don't do as many Bollywood films? Now you know ;) The truth about campism, bootlicking & powerplay within #Bollywood needs to come out more often...See what they tried to do to this amazing woman..."
Sharing the truth about the Hindi music industry, in a series of tweets, Amaal wrote:
My music has worked irrespective of the stars in them, but last few years seeing me do less film work has made young fans of mine a little worried, hence I¡¯m giving them the clear PICTURE ?

Priyanka also discussed her decision to hunt for work in the United States with Dax Shepherd on his "Armchair Expert" podcast. In a brave statement, Priyanka said,
"I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, and I am not good at playing that game, so I kind of was tired of the politics, and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave the movies I didn't want to get, but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling, and I had worked so long by then that I didn't feel like I wanted to do it."
With the "In My City" release in 2012, the "Fashion" actress debuted as a singer. The song featured American rapper Will.i.am.
The song was a success, and Priyanka received praise for her rendition. After that, in 2013, she released another song titled "Exotic," which also included the Cuban-American rapper Pitbull. In 2014, she also shared a cover of "I Can't make you love me" with the world.
Priyanka remarked on the podcast, "So when this music thing came, I was like, 'fu** it I'm going to America."
