Did Vanga cast Bobby by seeing just a picture?
Yes, at the trailer launch of Animal Bobby revealed, ¡°Sandeep showed me a photo of mine from the time I was playing Celebrity Cricket League, I wasn¡¯t working much at the time. In the photo, I was looking away at the horizon. He said I want to cast you because of this expression. This is what I want for the film ¡®I said chalo bekaari ke din kaam aa gaye¡® (my jobless days worked for me).¡±
¡°The condition of my career was such that I never thought that I would get such a great role.¡±
Soon after this, several people took to Reddit and shared some pictures which might be the one that clicked in Sandeep¡¯s mind. One of which featured Bobby dressed in blue with long hair and a heavy beard which actually looked like his character. Someone even said, ¡°I think it was actually this picture, very close to his actual look in Animal too.¡±
Animal has already sold over 2.5 lakh tickets across India ahead of its release on 1st December.
Also starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor and Tripti Dimri, the movie has been rated adult and will clash with Meghna Gulzar¡¯s Sam Bahadur. Vicky Kaushal is heading this biographical drama alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles.
Bobby Deol's thoughts on Animal!
At the Jagran Film Festival, Bobby was heard saying, ¡°I was really lucky that I got to be a part of Animal, I have loved Sandeep¡¯s work. He is the only director who has made the same film twice and succeeded both times. I want to do different characters and as I have said before, I want to break my image, get challenged and be very uncomfortable as an actor.¡±
¡°I am a big fan of Ranbir Kapoor. So I was really excited to learn that Ranbir would be playing the main lead, and I knew it would be amazing working with him as I have always loved his work. It is an emotional, violent drama with love, romance and hate. Sandeep brings out different elements in characterisations which are so different from other filmmakers.¡±
