A source has told PTI, "It's true that Malaika's father passed away this morning. He has not committed suicide, it's an accident. They all are shocked because he had no ailment or anything as such." Furthermore, the source said that the police 'panchnama' will make things clear. On the other hand, the Police has so far said that it's a case of suicide.
2. Malaika's father was not ill
Photos of Malaika Arora's father being ill are doing the rounds. The photos are old and not the latest. Malaika's mother Joyce Polycarp has also confirmed to the Police Anil Arora was not ill. He was doing fine.
3. Malaika's parents were divorced
Malaika's parents got divorced when she was 11 years old. She moved in Chembur with her mother and sister Amrita. While her mother is a Malayali Christian, her father was a Punjabi Hindu from the Indian border town of Fazilka.

Joyce Polycarp revealed Malaika's father had taken a VRS from the Merchant Navy.
6. He jumped off from the balcony, not the terrace
As per initial reports, he fell off/ jumped off from the sixth-floor balcony.

In a statement given to the Police, Malaika's mother Joyce Polycarp said that she found her ex-husband's slippers in the living room. When she went to the balcony looking for him, she couldn't find him. Instead, she heard the watchman shouting for help. When she looked down, she saw what had happened.
