Adil Hussain Shares Why He Thinks Quentin Tarantino Is The Most Overrated Filmmaker In History
The world might call him a legendary filmmaker, but Adil Hussain thinks that Quentin Tarantino is the most overrated filmmaker in the history of cinema. Here's why.
Would you be offended if anyone says that your favourite filmmaker is overrated? When Martin Scorcese said that Marvel films are not cinema, a lot of people were offended. Well, everyone is liable to have their own opinion, and rightly so.
In a similar incident, Delhi Crime 2 star Adil Hussain thinks that Pulp Fiction filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is one of the most overrated filmmakers in the history of Indian cinema.
The world might call him a legendary filmmaker, but Adil Hussain doesn't agree!
Taking to Twitter, Hussain wrote, "Quentin Tarantino is one of most Overrated Film Makers in the History of Cinema. His comments Truffaut not be taken seriously!"

When a fan asked Hussain why he thinks like that given the fact that Tarantino makes wonderful movies, the English Vinglish actor replied,
"Achhi film banate, Bilkul sahi hain... Unhe greatest film makers ke Darja diya jaata hain... Jisse main samajta hoon galat hain. Woh Achhi film, kamasekam engaging film banate hain. Unka Craft bahoot accha hain. (He makes good films. You're indeed right. He is called the greatest filmmakers... and I have think that's wrong. He makes good, engaging films. His craft is good too.)"

He wrote this in response to Quentin Tarantino's harsh comments against Francois Truffaut who he called a bumbling amateur. Tarantino said that he preferred Chabrol's thrillers over Truffaut's.
"[Chabrol's] thrillers are drastically better than the abysmal Truffaut-Hitchcock movies, which I think are just awful," he said and added, "I¡¯m not a Truffaut fan that much anyway. There are some exceptions, the main one being The Story of Adele H. But for the most part, I feel about Truffaut like I feel about Ed Wood. I think he¡¯s a very passionate, bumbling amateur."
Meanwhile, do you know that Quentin Tarantino is planning to retire after his next movie?
He had earlier as well said that he would retire after his tenth film. About that he recently said, "I know film history, and from here on in, directors do not get better. I still have another one to go. I don¡¯t have a reason that I would want to say out loud that¡¯s going to win any argument in a court of public opinion or Supreme Court or anything like that. At the same time, working for 30 years doing as many movies as I¡¯ve done, not as many as other people, that¡¯s a long career. That¡¯s a really long career. And I¡¯ve given it everything I have. Every single solitary thing I have."
