After Her Feud With Kangana, Shiv Sena Chooses Urmila Matondkar For Legislative Council Seat
Urmila Matondkar had taken a bold stand after she defended Mumbai Police when Kangana Ranaut had compared it to PoK. Thereafter, she was labelled as a "soft porn actress" by Ranaut. Following this, now it is said Shiv Sena has picked the former Bollywood star as one of the nominations for Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Following this, now it is said Shiv Sena has picked the former Bollywood star as one of the nominations for Maharashtra Legislative Council.
In September 2019, speculations were doing the rounds that Matondkar might join Shiv Sena post resigning from Congress. However, she had then declined the romours. Now, Sena¡¯s chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut has confirmed to Indian Express that "Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has spoken to Matondkar and she has agreed to be nominated by the Sena." Matondkar might likely be elected as the spokesperson for the Sena.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi government has recommended 12 names to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for nomination to the Upper House of the state legislature. Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress have submitted four names each.
Last year, Mantondar had contested Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North constituency. However, she lost to BJP lawmaker Gokulnath Shetty. Soon after, she had resigned from the party.
