After Nirav Modi Fraud, Priyanka Chopra's Name Gets Dragged Into Assam Calendar Controversy

Priyanka Chopra has just been getting embroiled into controversies, despite being outside India. The actress was recently dragged in the Nirav Modi fraud case as she had featured in his commercial advertisements.

The global icon, who was the face of the jewellery brand, however, denied knowing having any relations with him outside of work. Infact, her mother Madhu Chopra even revealed that Nirav Modi has not paid Priyanka dues for featuring in his jewellery campaign.

This is still not over and PC has got into another storm. Priyanka, who is the tourism ambassador for Assam, was earlier backlashed , when she said the state is known for its insurgency.

And now, she donned a cleavage showing dress on the Assam calendar which has created more spark. Boko MLA Nandita Das and another MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi have raised their concern over the issue.

¡°The government should preserve the respect of the Assamese society. Frock is not an Assamese attire and the calendar pictures were not sober at all. The government should have known how to preserve the prestige of the Assamese society, instead they could have used the traditional mekhela sador. This is the reason we have protested against the calendar,¡± Kurmi told the portal TIME8.

The MLA added, ¡°There are a lot of talented Assamese actors, the government should look into this and accordingly appoint one.¡±

Priyanka is yet to respond on the controversy. Meanwhile, the international actress will be seen in the third season of Quantico and in her second Hollywood film, A Kid Like Jake.
