In 1993, Anupam Kher Gave Speech Raising Voice For Kashmiri Pandits At 1st Gathering Of Victims

For the unversed, the first-ever meeting of the victims of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley took place in Delhi. Kher, being a renowned celebrity, was invited. In his speech, Anupam Kher can be seen talking about how his grandfather and his family had to leave everything behind and live in a truck miles away from their home.
In the video that he recently shared from 1993, Anupam Kher says, "Dukh hota hai ki ye sab kaise ho gaya. Mere dada ji ka ek chota sa kamra tha... aur jab bhi vaha jata tha chhuttiyon mein. mai sochta tha ki iss kamre ki jitni bhi kitaabe hain, bo main mere dada ji ke baad mai apne sath le jaaunga... vo choti si unki almaari... jismein unki bahumulya... kitabon ka koi mulya nahi tha... jitna bhi paise de do... unn kitabo ko nahi kharida ja sakta... Sakht afsos hua jab pata laga ki mere dada ji ke baad, mere gharwalon ko... taya ji ko, chacha ko... vo chodh kar ek tute foote truck mein... darre hue... apna hi ghar chodh ke... hazaon kilometre door rehna pada."

"Jab humara apna ghar hai... toh hum apne ghar jayenge... aur koi taakat humein apne ghar jaane se rok nahi sakti...," he says in the video.

In the caption, Kher wrote, "In 1993, after the genocide of #KashmiriHindus in #Kashmir, the first gathering of the victims took place in Delhi!
