Anupam Kher Reacts To Bollywood's Silence On Kashmir Files' Success, Says Salman Khan Called Him
When Anupam Kher was about Bollywood's muted silence on the success of The Kashmir Files, he said that Salman Khan called him to congratulate him personally.
It has been after a really long time that a Bollywood film has made so much noise. The Kashmir Files is now the most successful Hindi film that has been released post-pandemic. But why is Bollywood silent?
When Anupam Kher was asked about Bollywood's muted silence, he told Times Now, "As far as the Hindi film industry is concerned, I think they're too much in a shock. Aisa kabhi hua nahi hai. Whenever a shocking thing happens, it's a very very strange reaction."
He then gave examples of Sholay and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, and said, "Like jab Sholay bani thi, yeh mujhe Ramesh Sippy ji ne khud bataya, toh pehle tin week chali hi nahi qki logon ko samajh nahi aaya ki Hindustan me aisi film bhi ban sakti hai. Pehle teen week, it was declared a flop, but then it became a cult film. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, premiere huwa tha toh the industry was saying, 'Oh my God! Yeh kya banaya diya hai, yeh toh shaadi ka video hai'. But it turned out to be the biggest grosser".
Anupam Kher then said that Salman Khan called him to congratulate him personally. "Salman Khan called me the other day and congratulated me."

Taapsee Pannu had recently commented on the success of The Kashmir Files. When asked, she said that with such big box office number, the film cannot be bad.
"If a small film like that can create those kinds of numbers (then) it can¡¯t be a bad film, you can question the intention of people, the means and all of that. That¡¯s subjective. You have a right to have an opinion. Let¡¯s agree to disagree. Let¡¯s settle at that," she was quoted as saying.
