'Can't Expect Her Do To 24/7 Job,' Anushka Sharma's Brother On Why She Quit Her Own Production Venture
Anushka Sharma's brother Karnesh Ssharma has now revealed what led her to quit Clean Slate Filmz. He says she is a new mother and cannot be expected to do a 24/7 job of a producer.
Anushka Sharma was last seen on the silver screen in 2018 with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in Zero. Since then, the actress had been concentrating on her production venture Clean Slate Filmz which she started along with her brother Karnesh Ssharma and produced movies like NH10, Phillauri, Pari and web series like Paatal Lok and Bulbbul among others.
What shocked her audiences recently was her decision to quit Clean Slate Filmz.
Anushka Sharma's brother Karnesh Ssharma has now revealed what led her to this decision. "I think her priority has shifted and her time is restricted, because producing is a 24/7 job, and you can¡¯t expect her to do that as she is a new mother now."
She also embraced motherhood last year after the arrival of her daughter Vamika.
"She was very open and frank about what she said and it is all good; she is there with us in spirit. Moving forward, you never know what happens. I think this is the phase in her life, and there could be another phase in her life where she comes back, it is her company as much as it is mine," he told Indian Express.
Anushka Sharma will next be seen in Chakda Xpress, which is based on the inspiring journey of Jhulan Goswami, produced by Clean Slate Filmz.
Anushka had declared her decision to quit the production venture in an Instagram post. She said that she wants to concentrate on acting which is her first love.
"When I started Clean Slate Filmz with my brother Karnesh Ssharma, we were novices when it came to production but we had a fire in our belly and we wanted to try and set the agenda of entertainment in India through clutter-breaking content. Today, when I look back at our journey so far, I'm deeply proud of what we have created and the disruption that we have managed to achieve. While CSF started with my vision to change the narrative of what commercial projects should be like, I have to credit Karnesh who has excelled in shaping what CSF has become today. Being a new mother who has chosen to be an actor by profession, I have to balance my life in an entirely new fashion like never before. So, I have decided that whatever time I have at hand, I will dedicate it to my first love, acting! Therefore, I have decided to step away from CSF, confident that the most able person, Karnesh, is taking forward the vision with which it was created in the first place. I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for Karnesh and CSF and hope to be a part of many clutter-breaking projects that would be produced by CSF. I can't wait to see how he grows the company from strength to strength with the stellar line up of projects that he has handpicked, nurtured and given life to. My best wishes to the entire family at CSF. Love you all! Anushka", she wrote.
Clean Slate Filmz has also produced Mai, a Netflix web series starring Sakshi Tanwar in the lead role.
