However, what really worked out for Ayushmann for his smashing movie debut as an actor in Shoojit Sircar's 'Vicky Donor'.
After Vicky Donor, there was no looking back for him. In just ten years, he has established himself as one of the most credible actors in Bollywood, who has created his niche.
But did you know that before winning Roadies, Ayushmann was also trying his hands at acting with a TV show?
In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ayushmann Khurrana revealed that he once auditioned for a popular Balaji TV show. Another interesting fact about the role for which Ayushmann auditioned is that it was later given to Pulkrit Samrat.
Ayushmann was quoted as saying,
"It was a Balaji show, and I do not remember the name. Perhaps it was either Kasauti Zindagii Kayy or Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Pulkit Samrat played that role eventually. I had already made it as an RJ by the time I auditioned for the show. So I told my casting director, "Bro, I am going¡¯. So I could not do that TV show, "
On the work front, Ayushmann was last seen in Anubhav Sinha¡¯s Anek, released in theaters on May 27.
Despite good public word of mouth after the trailer release, the movie failed to perform at the box office. Ayushmann's next line-up of releases includes Doctor G and An Action Hero.
