Remember Bigg Boss 5 Finalist Sidharth Bhardwaj? Here¡¯s Why He Left Showbiz And Moved To The US
Bigg Boss and Splitsvilla fame Sidharth Bhardwaj reveals why he left showbiz and went on to do standup comedy in the USA.
Where we have stories of people coming from dark life to major limelight, there are parallel stories of some going to anonymity after ruling the headlines. Sidharth Bhardwaj is one such example. The winner of MTV Splitsvilla 2 and Bigg Boss 5 finalist, Sidharth left showbiz when he was a household name and moved to the USA.
Bhardwaj won Splitsvilla alongside Sakshi Pradhan in 2009 and ended up as second runner-up in Bigg Boss 5 which Juhi Parmar won.
Sidharth then later participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 6 but was eliminated in the second week. He then made his Bollywood debut with 2014¡¯s Balaji film Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi.
In 2016, he even participated in Box Cricket League season 2.
What went downhill for Sidharth was that he realised that after Khatron, his career was stagnating and that people only wanted to see his angry young man image.
He told ETimes, ¡°In India, I was known but mujhe kaun kaam de raha tha in the mainstream. Everybody wanted 21 saal ka Sidharth, who was an angry young man in Splitsvilla. I was 21, but now I am 30. I have grown up as an artist. Wherever I would go for work, everybody would want the Sidharth from Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss. I am not that person. I wanted to grow up in life.¡±
Sidharth Bhardwaj then moved to the US on a tourist visa but eventually fell in love with the place.
¡°I am not a known face here. Anybody who comes here, if you are not Priyanka Chopra, you have to do other jobs to pay your bills. You have to do what it takes to make it somewhere. Today I am in a great position¡ I wanted to do stand-up comedy even when I was in Mumbai four-five years back...I felt I was born for it.¡±
Do you know Sidharth¡¯s sister Jaya is married to Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar?
Sidharth told ETimes, ¡°Earlier we were a brother and a sister. Now it is me, my sister and Deepak. Deepak is the brother, which I never had. There is no brother-in-law relationship. It is a brother-brother relationship. We are very close. Even from here, we are talking every day. We keep sharing reels with each other 24*7. We are very close as a family.¡±
¡°We are not orthodox people like ladkiwale-ladkewale. Hum ek doosre se bahut close hai. If ever there¡¯s God¡¯s will, we would all love to live together under one roof.¡±
