CID Actor Dinesh Phadnis AKA Fredericks Has Been Battling For Life On Ventilator Support In Mumbai's Hospital Since Friday.
Dinesh Phadnis best known for playing Fredericks in popular TV show CID is on ventilator support. The actor was rushed to Mumbai¡¯s Tunga Hospital on Friday. IWM Buzz broke the news and reported, ¡°Dinesh Phadnis has been battling for life, with ventilator support.¡±
Dinesh Phadnis¡¯s Hospitalisation
The portal further revealed, ¡°We hear that the entire cast and crew of CID was made aware of his health condition yesterday night, post which many of them dropped at the hospital to enquire about his health today.¡± The report further clarified that he has gotten a little better from the day he was hospitalised.
Dayanand Shetty refutes rumours of a heart attack.
Several media reports have referred to a heart attack as the reason for Dinesh's ventilation but it seems untrue. Shetty who played Senior Inspector Daya in CID told Indian Express, ¡°Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalised and on a ventilator, doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack, it is a different treatment and I wouldn¡¯t like to comment on it.¡±
Dinesh Phadnis¡¯ films and television stints
Not just acting but Dinesh also wrote many episodes of his popular show - CID. He worked on it from 1998 to 2018. Other than that he starred in Dangal TV¡¯s CIF and also appeared as a guest on Adaalat and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Phadnis also impressed the audiences with his roles in movies like Super 30, Sarfarosh and Officer.
When Dinesh revealed he was struggling to get work before CID came to his rescue.
In an interview with TellyChakkar in 2012, Phadnis walked his fans through his life. He revealed, ¡°I remember I was struggling for roles and wherever I went to seek work, I met B P Singh (producer of CID). I am not aware if it was sheer luck or coincidence. Finally, he asked me if I wanted to join CID and that¡¯s how my journey began. Later I also took up Aahat.¡±
Talking more about his character and the show, Dinesh added, ¡°The show earlier had no humour at all. So I was chosen to be the comic relief. And I must say that I have received a great response from the masses. It¡¯s a big and lovely team. There is absolutely no sense of insecurity. Shivaji Satam, Daya, Aditya are all very helpful. And the best part is that fans love my work.¡±
