The unthinkable has happened. Who would have imagined that Shah Rukh Khan-Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki's shows would be replaced by Prabhas-Prashanth Neel's Salaar!
Dunki's shows are getting replaced with that of Salaar
As per reports, several film exhibitors especially single screen owners have replaced the shows of SRK's films with that of Prabhas-starrer movie. They have done this because of "not-so-encouraging audience response and arm-twisting games for 100%".
Dunki VS Salaar
Some single screens like INOX Dadar, Plaza Dadar, Mukta A2 New Excelsior, Maratha Mandir, Miraj Thakur Kandivali, Movietime Dahisar, Gold Thane, Anand Thane, Cinepolis Regent Patna, PVR Rivoli Delhi, which screened Dunki on Thursday and have opted for Salaar on Friday.
Earlier, it was reported that Salaar is not getting enough screens as its release is clashing with the Bollywood movie. Reports suggested that some foul play is going on in North, which is why makers were even considering changing the release of the Prabhas-starrer movie. After it was reported that Salaar was denied equal sharing of screens, reports suggested that Salaar has withdrawn from PVR INOX and Miraj Cinema.
Later, PVR issued a statement and stated, "We have come across some speculative media reports about the film SALAAR and its release at PVR INOX Cinemas. We would like to clarify that these reports are incorrect, SALAAR is one of the most anticipated films of the year and it¡¯s releasing across pan India PVR INOX cinemas on the scheduled release date i.e., 22 December 2023."
An insider later told TOI, "We have opened national chains after agreeing for equal sharing in North and 70 percent sharing in the South."
Now, that reports of Dunki's shows getting replaced with that of Salaar are doing the rounds, fans say it is embarrassing.
"Imagine doing all that and still losing this is a little embarrassing. They would¡¯ve at least had an excuse had they just let things run it¡¯s course," a fan commented.
"The film industry is super unpredictable. Till yesterday we had rumours of Salaar not getting enough theatres in the North, and today it's the opposite," said another user.
"Seems like Dunki is getting Dunked on", said another.
