Deepika Breaks Down While Talking About Battling Depression, Thanks Mother For Her Support
Deepika Padukone broke down while speaking about her own experience of dealing with depression at a recent event in the capital.
Deepika Padukone spoke about her depression on national television and earned a lot of respect. While we think that stars have a perfect luxurious life, spotlight, and fame, there is another ugly side, the one one that no one likes to talk about.
Following Deepika's footsteps, Karan Johar also spoke about his depression and how there were days that made him battle with his own self.

On World Mental Health Day, actor Deepika Padukone discussed her struggle with depression during the filming of Chennai Express in 2014. Talking to NDTV, Deepika said,
"Two years back, my family had come to see me. They were about to leave and I was all alone in my bedroom, curled up. My mother walked in and asked if everything was okay, I said yes. She asked again if it was work or something else that was bothering me, I said no."
Thanking her mother for all the support and how she helped Deepika to come out of her depression, Deepika added,
"She asked me so many times that I felt myself choking and I broke into tears. I want to tell my mother that if it wasn¡¯t for you, I wouldn¡¯t be here. Thank you for being with me all through the way. Thank you to my sister, my father, and friends who supported my immensely."
While talking about this phase, Padukone broke down as she couldn't stop her tears. While explaining how important it is to take the step of talking to the one suffering from depression, Deepika launched a social
Talking about Live Love Laugh foundation's new campaign #DOBARAPOOCHO, Deepika explained how important it is for people to help depressed people talk about their state of mind. She added,

"In the times we are living today, we have become so competitive, which is a good thing, but we have become extremely insensitive too. Through this campaign, I dedicate this to people who have survived depression, people suffering through it even now and urge the society to become more sensitive.¡±
The thing that is making Deepika really happy is how people are talking and writing about depression without any inhibitions. She said,
