Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, known for his outspoken nature, was recently trolled on social media by a user who called him a 'Ghatiya Aadmi' and suggested he relocate to Bangladesh. Here's how the filmmaker responded.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta who has been constantly sharing his opinion on the situation in Bangladesh was recently trolled on X (formerly called Twitter) by a user who called him "Ghatiya filmmaker" but also a "Ghatiya man" who should leave India and relocate to Bangladesh. The user was apparently unhappy with the filmmaker's response. Here's what Mehta wrote back to him.
Troll asks Hansal Mehta to relocate to Bangladesh
Tu sirf ghatiya film maker nahin ghatiya aadmi bhi hai! Teri poori biradari waisi hai. You should relocate to Dhaka or Karachi asap. Move to the country you are loyal to. This is still a Hindu country. I hope the authorities investigate the source of funds for your industry ASAP.

The director known for Scam 1992 based on the life of Harshad Mehta on Aug 6 had tweeted, "Here is a message I received from Bangladesh. Tells you what people are feeling there unlike what some bigoted people here want you to believe. ¡°Good morning Sir, it feels like we¡¯ve achieved liberation again in our country¡¯s history. Now we must build a just and fair Bangladesh 2.0!"
A lot of people were unhappy with his response. "Sir you aren't able to receive other messages coz they aren't able to charge their phones, coz their houses have been burnt," one of the users wrote. "Nonsense, seeing so much unrest and killing this is the message he chose to flaunt. Wow empathy is so selective for liberals. Not surprised though," said another user.

However, one person advised him to either relocate to Dhaka or Karachi. He wrote, "Tu sirf ghatiya film maker nahin ghatiya aadmi bhi hai! Teri poori biradari waisi hai. You should relocate to Dhaka or Karachi asap. Move to the country you are loyal to. This is still a Hindu country. I hope the authorities investigate the source of funds for your industry ASAP." In response, Hansal Mehta called him a loser.
In another post on Aug 5, Mehta revealed how his film Faraaz was banned in Pakistan under Sheikh Hasina's rule. Criticising her authoritarian rule, Hansal Mehta said that the government tried to suppress his films for portraying them negatively. "This was a government that wanted nobody outside Bangladesh to know that they were simply inept and run by a highly authoritarian leader who was afraid of any criticism towards herself. They wanted to cover up their bloodied hands by shutting our voice and our right to tell a story," he wrote.

Seeing the events unfold in Bangladesh reminds me of the Faraaz release saga. It is streaming globally on Netflix except in Bangladesh where it has been banned.
