Do you miss shows like Office Office, Antakshari, Shriman Ji Shrimati, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Just Mohabbat, Khichdi, Aahat and Hum Paanch?
From iconic Indian TV shows to the Golden era of nonsense, Indian TV shows have come a long way, right? Ever since that transitioned happened, it＊s the same nonsense that＊s repeating itself over and over again. After all, Kasautii Zindagii Kay is returning for the second season (Rejoice or maybe not?).

On one hand, people in the west enjoy shows like Sherlock, which runs for three-four episodes each season, and people look forward to it. But here in India, CID is running on TV since decades. Since 1998, Pradyuman is still the ACP. The poor fellow hasn＊t got a promotion. Daya is breaking doors (of which we have lost count), Abhijit is romancing Tarika on a detective-crime-anthology series, and Dr. Salunkhe is fooling people by turning the milky water red. ※Iska matlab khoon isne kiya!§ I mean, How the f**k does a chemistry test prove who the killer is?

And these shows not only defy physics, biology, chemistry but everything even logic. We＊re sure Google has given up too. People are turning into flies (Sasural Simar Ka). Snakes are taking Ubers and raping women (Naagin). People are dying and coming back (on almost every other show on TV). I mean, what are writers smoking? If this isn＊t imagination going wild, then what is it?

From a Breaking Bad like crime drama to an adventure fantasy like Game of Thrones, an Indian show can be transformed into different genres 每 WHILE IT＊S RUNNING. Rishton ke nahi, yahan genre ke bhi roop badalte hain!
Just imagine the variety of jobs these people do. They can never get bored. Because they can twist the story as and when they want! Getting bored? Let＊s do a Bollywood sort-of song-and-dance routine! Yes, you read that right! Sometimes they enact on an entire Bollywood song. Just look at this, if you don＊t believe us!
Don＊t the actors ever feel stupid while shooting for something as senseless as this? Or that＊s part of acting, I suppose.
Talking about the music, it＊s like Rakhi Sawant - you like it or you hate it but you simply cannot ignore it. For instance, this picture below is not just a picture. If you're a 90s kid you can actually hear the picture, can't you?
The title song of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi plays in the background, automatically, when you see this picture, doesn＊t it? That is the impact these TV shows have upon us. They are there 每 comfortably settled in your sub-conscious minds, and you cannot erase them. No matter how much you love Game of Thrones theme song and you have it as you ringtone since years, it will never play in your head when you see a picture of Kit Harington? Never, right?
And not to forget, the names of the shows are super creative. For instance, Bahu Humari Rajinikanth or Ichhapyaari Naagin. Are they trying to change the image of Naagins in the eyes of audiences? Like they are not always bad, sometimes they are nice? But why, I ask? Because that＊s the news hour debate these days.
But do you know how the entire trend of non-sense shows started? With Sasural Simar Ka apparently! I mean dying people coming back to life was still digestible. Rebirth was somewhere believable. But a woman turning into a fly? People went bonkers when they saw it. Was that an attempt at ripping-off Spiderman?

Then, there was the whole hullabaloo around the show Pehredaar Piya Ki for it showed a 10-year-old romancing a 18-year-old on their first night after marriage. Without any questions we watched, Daenerys getting married to Khal Drogo, Sansa Stark marrying Tyrion Lannister or Tommen Baratheon marrying Margery Tyrell in Game of Thrones. But how could that happen in an Indian show? Well, that＊s double standards right there. We enjoy stereotypes when they are not our own, don＊t we?
Even after all this, if by any chance you have started to enjoy the show, they will test your tolerance with cross promotions. In an episode of Naagin, Kareena Kapoor and the cast of Veere Di Wedding spoiled the honeymoon of a snake couple. They were to consummate their wedding after 100 years of tapasya. I feel pity for the poor snake, don＊t you?
