'I was looking in the mirror and slapping...': Govinda claims Bollywood conspired against him

After being away from the big screen for a long time, veteran actor Govinda recently talked about why he took a break from acting. One of his greatest regrets, he admitted in an interview, was declining a Rs 100 crore movie. Govinda further asserted that a number of people in the film industry purposefully conspired against him in an effort to damage his reputation and obstruct his career. He said that several powerful people plotted to limit his chances in Bollywood by erecting barriers in his path. The actor, who is renowned for his flawless comedic timing and captivating on-screen persona, admitted that the business has evolved dramatically over time.

Govinda talked candidly about his regrets and career difficulties with Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International. He disclosed that he had actually rejected a Rs 100 crore movie. After giving his choice some thought, he acknowledged that he was frustrated and even reprimanded himself for passing up such a big chance. The role he turned down was comparable to those that are today known in Bollywood, he said, adding, "I was looking in the mirror and slapping myself for refusing the project."
Govinda, however, defended his decision in spite of his regrets, emphasising the significance of upholding one's moral principles.

The actor also talked about a challenging time in his life when he was supposedly the victim of a purposeful defamation campaign. He asserted that these attempts to harm his reputation were prearranged and intended to keep him out of movies. He claimed that some people viewed him as an outsider who had upended a field that was controlled by more "educated" people. He did not name anyone, but he disclosed that the plots against him became so intense that armed men were apprehended outside his home. He acknowledged that the event had a profound impact on him and changed his personality significantly.
