Ishaan Khatter will essay the role of War veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. The film based on 1971 Indo-Pak war is called Pippa.
Ishaan Khatter who is basking in the glory of his latest release Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy internationally, will next be seen playing the role of war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta in a forthcoming movie titled Pippa.
The film will be directed by Raja Krishna Menon, who helmed Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift. The movie will be based The Burning Chaffees written by Brig Mehta himself.

The movie is based on 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The Battle of Garibpur marked India's military victory over Pakistan in 1971. The war, in which several martyrs sacrificed their lives, lasted for 13 days after which Pakistan surrendered to India and Bangladesh. This led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
What is the relevance of Pippa and why is the movie named this?
The movie is named after Russian war tank PT-76, which was popularly called Pippa, was used in the war.
