Jani Master granted bail to attend National Awards: Chinmayi Sripaada and others slam judiciary, say 'cancel his award'
Accused of sexually assaulting his female assistant choreographer, Jani Master has been granted interim bail for four days to attend the National Film Awards. People including singer Chinmayi Sripaada have slammed the Indian judiciary urging his award for Thiruchitrambalam to be cancelled.
Choreographer Jani Master whose latest song Aayi Nai from Stree 2 has become a rage has been granted bail in the sexual assault case. The POCSO-accused, who was arrested over allegations of sexual assault of a female assistant choreographer multiple times, will now be attending the National Awards. This decision has led to a massive outcry with people demanding cancelling of his award.

Jani Master has been reportedly granted an interim bail for four days (from October 6 to October 10) to attend the National Film Awards, scheduled to take place on October 8. For the unversed, the choreographer has won the award for his dance choreography in Tamil movie Thiruchitrambalam starring Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Bharathiraja and Prakash Raj among others. As soon as the news emerged, people started slamming the decision.

"We should also be shaming the jury who thought it was okay to have a national award associated with such a person. Sexual Assault and murder should require stripping the person of all its titles and privileges," one of the users said slamming the decision. "Disgusting and so disappointed. Money and clout is stronger than law/order/morality in India," said another one. "India's judiciary has hit rock bottom, It wasn't at any great level anyway... in the past few years jo desh ho chla h... judiciary including. Paise ho toh sahi mein kya kuch ni ho skta hain," another user added.

For the uninitiated, Jani Master was arrested in a sexual assault case filed by his former associate who claimed that he sexually harassed and assaulted her multiple times since she joined him as an assistant and was a minor. Currently, aged 21, the victim claimed that she was first raped in 2020 in a Mumbai hotel room when she was 16. Jani Master allegedly threatened her to keep mum or else she will lose her job. He was arrested on September 19 and brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant.
