Today, actor Yash needs no introduction. His latest release KGF: Chapter 2 is causing havoc at the global box office, and everyone is singing praises for him. He has a massive fan following not only across the whole nation but globally as well. His die-hard fans flocked cinema halls in large numbers on the first day of the film's release. So much so, that Police had to lathi-charge them. Such is the frenzy around him. But fame didn't come overnight to him. He had his own share of struggles and ups and downs in life.
Yash's father is still a bus driver
Yash comes from a very humble family. His father Arun Kumar worked in the KSRTC transport service and later in the BMTC transport service as a driver. His mother was a homemaker. His father hasn't still left his profession, despite the fact that his son has become a superstar.
At an event, SS Rajamouli had revealed the same. He said, "I was amazed after knowing that Yash is the son of a bus driver. IĄ¯m told that his father works as a bus driver even today. To me, YashĄ¯s father is the real star more than the actor".
Yash, whose real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda, completed his education in Mysore and came to Bengaluru with just Rs 300 in his pocket. While his family supported his ambition but they didn't know he was adamant to join this profession. After he got a job on a film's set, they thought he would return home in two days.
Yash told Variety, "They thought okay, maximum one or two days he will be there, or a week, and he will come back. He will realize what life is".
Early Struggle
Yash started working on a film's set as assistant director, but sadly, the film got shelved in just two days. He had no place to go or stay. He then joined the popular Benaka theatre troupe formed by renowned dramatist BV Karanath. He worked on stage for long time and then swiftly moved towards the Television industry and starred in shows like Nanda Gokula, Uttarayana and Silli Lalli.
"I never had a plan B, I always thought IĄ¯m a hero. ThatĄ¯s because, in childhood, I used to participate in a lot of cultural activities, and I used to get that extra attention ¨C people used to clap and whistle. So I think I got addicted to it at a very young age," he told the publication.
Yash - A Superstar
In 2008, Yash bagged his first lead role in a movie - Rocky. In just one decade, he came a Kannada superstar and one of the highest-paid actors in the industry. After the phenomenal success of KGF and KGF: Chapter 2, Yash is now a global sensation.
Yash's personal life
Yash is married to actor Radhika Pandit, whom he met for the first time on the sets of TV serial Nanda Gokula. Yash and Radhikahave two kids.
They have together founded Yasho Marga Foundation which aims in helping the needy. The couple invested Rs 4 crore towards the restoration of the lakes in the Koppal district.
