Meezaan Jafri Played Ranveer Singh's Body Double In 'Padmaavat', Shares His Experience!

Meezaan Jafri son of Bollywood actor Javed Jaffrey entered Bollywood in 2019 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Malaal. But did you know that before making a debut, he was also a body double for Ranveer Singh in the 2018 film Padmaavat?

Now, in a new interview, he talked about his experience of playing Ranveer Singh's body double in Padmaavat.

In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, he revealed that he was assisting Bhansali on Padmaavat.

He said, "Bhansali sir trusted me, and he would rehearse scenes with me. He would record the rehearsals and the blockings, and he'd give me feedback on my performance."

He added that the last-minute arrangements on the sets made him nervous. He added,

"I was there on set, in costume and makeup. I hadn't eaten anything, so I was really stressed. I was a little late, and it took an hour for the prosthetics and for me to get into the look. I learned the script in that one hour."

He considers his real silver screen debut as Ranveer's body double. Describing more details, he said,

"The moment I came out, I was already nervous about doing proper acting in front of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it was technically my 'silver screen debut', and there were 500 junior artists around me, and I had to deliver a whole speech. Then an assistant director comes to me and shows me Ranveer's version of the shot, and asks me to replicate his mannerisms. I was like, 'why couldn't you have told me before! I was already so tense'. But regardless, I went ahead, I was terrified, I was in bad shape."

He thanked Bhansali for his help and said that the experience was unforgettable. Meezan's Hungama 2 starring Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Meezaan Jafri, and Pranitha Subhash proved to be a dud and failed to gain a nod from fans.
