Milestone! Pathaan Mints Rs 500 Crores In Hindi Alone, Becomes First Bollywood Movie To Do So

Another day, another record! Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan is flying high at the box office. The Siddharth Anand directorial which crossed Rs 1000 crore mark globally has now become the only Hindi-original film to have crossed Rs 500 crore mark.

Announcing the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "After hitting its fifth century, Pathaan sets its sights on the highest-grossing Hindi film in India: Baahubali 2. (Nett BOC) (Week 4) Friday 2.20 crore, Saturday 3.25 crore, Sunday 4.15 crore, Monday 1.20 crore, Tuesday 1.10 crore. Total: ? 500.05 crore. Hindi. India biz. All time blockbuster."

As per boxofficecollection.in, the film that has touched Rs 500 crore mark is Baahubali 2 (Hindi) whose collection stands at Rs 510.99 crores. Other films in the list are KGF: Chapter 2 which minted Rs 435 crores, Hindi-original movies - Dangal which grossed Rs 387.38 crores, Sanju with Rs 342.86 crores, PK with Rs 340.80 crores, Tiger Zinda Hai with Rs 339.16 crores, Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Rs 320.34 crores and War with Rs 318.01 crores.

Talking about the success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan who took a 3-4 year hiatus from acting after back-to-back flops like Fan, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero among others, had said, "I was told when something doesn't work, go to those who love you. I am very fortunate that I have millions who give me love. When I am happy, I come to my balcony, when I am sad, I come to the balcony. I am fortunate to have been given a permanent balcony ticket."

Furthermore, hinting on Pathaan sequel, SRK said, "If they (producer Aditya Chopra and director Siddharth Anand) want to make a sequel with me it will be my honour."
