Their story goes back to a dance concert in Mumbai at a cultural show when a couple in the audience couldn't stop looking at Nita Ambani. The couple was none other than Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani. Nita used to perform at the annual Navratri dance ballet for the Gujarati community but she was unaware someone was watching her there. Days later, Dhirubhai Ambani called her. Nita earlier refused to believe and thought it was a prank. It was Dhirubhai who played the matchmaker between them. He asked her to meet him at his office, and the rest as they say is history.
Mukesh Ambani used to send red roses every morning

Eventually, both of them met and fell in love. They realised how their values matched sharing a deep appreciation for family, tradition, and ambition. and so their bond grew stronger. "Everything was straight from the heart," Mukesh Ambani had said in an interview talking about sending red roses to Nita Ambani every morning.

The proposal
"Nita was really the first girl. I had pretty much made up my mind that this is it, this is my life partner. I could sense in Nita that she was there and not there also. Once when we were driving on Peddar Road, it just occurred to me and said Nita will you marry me, say yes or no now in the car."

Nita Ambani recalled that this happened amid the bustling traffic, with horns blaring and drivers shouting. Initially, she thought Mukesh was joking. However, Mukesh Ambani insisted he wouldn't move his car until he got an answer. Eventually, she said yes.
Nita Ambani is the chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International School and a director of Reliance Industries. Her daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant recently revealed she was also the CEO of their wedding planning, with Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta overlooking all the arrangements.
