No Less Than Frontline Workers! Sonu Sood Made History When He Stepped Up For Stranded Migrants
It was one man- actor and prominently known as Bollywood's favourite villain Sonu Sood who gave humanity a new face by organizing a plethora of buses that would take thousands of migrants home to their families. Ensuring none of them die.
COVID-19 hit many countries in the world but only India witnessed a humanitarian crisis. Hailed as 'The World's Biggest Lockdown', 130 crore Indians were overnight restricted to their homes with some of the most severe guidelines that involved no movement at all- by air, road, or water were followed.

Indeed, the lockdown was inevitable but what could have been avoidable was the plight of our migrants across the country. Lockdown meant the loss of livelihood for workers who worked on daily wages and naturally it wasn't affordable for them to live in big cities where along with work even food and water could become scarce. Naturally, migrants wanted to go back home where they would not only be safe but be assured of three meals a day among their own communities and loved ones. When the lockdown was enforced, migrants were stranded. Ultimately deciding to walk back home out of sheer helplessness.

As our migrants started to go home on foot covering a journey of more than 1000 kilometers- most with children, some with injured parents, without water, food, or any money, India's conscience took a sharp hit that was long needed. People all over the country started to organize donation drives, providing the needy with ration, daily essentials, and meals.

¡°Migrant workers have helped build our roads, homes, and offices. We cannot stand and watch them be homeless,¡± tweeted actor Sonu Sood before launching his incredible 'Ghar Bhejo' campaign. Each day since the lockdown, the actor has been organizing buses for migrants taking them from Mumbai to their respective hometowns.
As part of his ¡®Ghar Bhejo¡¯ campaign, he has successfully arranged for 12,000 migrants to reach home safely, and soon 45,000 more would be sent home as a part of his ever-growing initiative. Each day, at least around 45,000 people are provided with food and water too.

A reel-life villain has become a hero for his fans in real life.
The minute Sonu Sood's fantastic charitable work surfaced, people all over the country were quick to applaud Sood. From politicians to fans, everyone was in awe of Sonu Sood's work- transporting migrants back home for free, one bud ride at a time. Twitterati declared Sonu Sood as the new 'Sushma Swaraj', the beloved politician who was known to help stranded Indians reach home from all over the world. Some even called Sood their favoruite state government. And even his celebrity friends were incredibly proud of him.
