Recently, Panchayat season 3 actress Sunita Rajwar talked about on-set treatment of TV actors who play supporting roles vs the lead actors. The actress who has been working in the industry since 1997 said that while the lead actors are given a lot of privilege, character actors are given dirty rooms and bathrooms to stay in. She said character actors like her are treated like animals.
"If you know you are not shooting with a particular artiste then call them later. What¡¯s the need of making them sit? It¡¯s like you are trying to shoot others down," she said and added about the conditions on a TV set and said, "Lead actors are pampered. Their room will be neat, they will have a fridge, microwave. Where as others like us, we will have a small dingy room. They will make 3-4 people sit. The roof is falling down. No clean bathroom. Your bedsheet will be dirty. Seeing all this, I always felt so bad."
