Priyanka Chopra is getting trolled for the overpriced homeware products that she launched under Sona Home. A single dinner plate has been priced at $60 (Rs 4,700). For a table cloth, one will have to pay a staggering $398 (Rs 31,000). The coasters are priced at Rs 4,500, Cocktail napkins at Rs 5,300, Bread Baskets at Rs 7,500, Bottle cooler at Rs 30,000, and straws at Rs 2,200.
It wasn't long ago that Priyanka Chopra launched her Homeware brand called Sona Home. She said that she has brought forth her Indian roots and culture into homeware products. People, especially Indians were quite excited about it until they saw the rate cards.
Now people are trolling Priyanka Chopra and the brand for its overpriced products.

What is all the fuss about?

While this pricing may not be considered exorbitant in the US, Indians are going berserk seeing the rates.
"I went broke just scrolling through those prices," wrote a person on Reddit.
"We have gone from foreigners ripping off people by exoticizing Indian culture and selling things at ludicrous prices to Indians ripping off people by exoticizing Indian culture and seeing things at ludicrous prices," wrote another one.
"If anyone pays $400 for a tablecloth, they deserve that level of highway robbery," another user said.

Talking about Sona Home, Priyanka Chopra had earlier said, "That's the ethos of Sona Home for me. It helps in creating a home out of a house. It's created to help family and friends come together as a community," she said.
She added that she wants to put the culture of her country India in every house of her "adoptive country".
On Instagram, she wrote, "Launch day is here! I couldn't be more proud to introduce you all to SONA HOME. It was challenging to come from India and make America my second home, but my journey led me to a place where I found a second family and friends. I bring a piece of India into everything I do and this is an extension of that thought.
