'I'm Getting Older', Ranbir Kapoor Won't Be Doing Rom-Coms After Luv Ranjan's Upcoming Film
Ranbir Kapoor has expressed that he is not interested in doing romantic comedies anymore and that Luv Ranjan's upcoming film will be his last in the genre.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor has shared that he is not interested in taking up any more rom-com projects after Luv Ranjan's upcoming film. The actor is starring alongside Shraddha Kapoor in the film and it will be his last in the genre as he believes he's getting older.
Luv Ranjan's romantic comedy film is yet to be titled. The film is slated to hit theatres on March 8, 2023.
Ranbir, who recently became a father to a beautiful daughter, attended the ongoing Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where he spoke of his upcoming projects during an interaction.
"I don't know it is probably going to be one of the last romantic comedies I do because I am getting older," the Brahmastra actor said while talking about his role at the event as per Hindustan Times.
However, the audience believes otherwise and cheered him on saying that it is not true as he is getting younger.
The 40-year-old Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor has featured in several romantic comedies ever since he started his career in Bollywood. The last one he starred in was Jagga Jasoos, which was released in 2017.
Ranbir also shared details about his upcoming movie Animal, where he is set to be seen alongside south heroine Rashmika Mandanna. He disclosed that Sandeep Vanga Reddy's upcoming directorial is "a crime thriller" and a "gangster film" which he is really excited about.
Shedding light on his character in the movie, the actor further said that he will be playing a character that's "quite shocking," and who has "shades of grey."
Ranbir also revealed that has never done a movie like Animal before. "Arjun Reddy director's film is something that I have never done before. It is a very exciting project for me," the actor was quoted as saying by the media outlet.
Reportedly, Ranbir concluded, saying "more movies now!"
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor last starred in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva alongside his wife Alia Bhatt. The film also had Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in crucial roles while Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone played cameos.
