Sharmin appeared in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali program on Netflix, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, and others. Sharmin was asked to name the first celebrity she saw in person, and she mentioned how Salman Khan playfully proposed to her when she was just about two years old.

She told ETimes, "During (the shoot of) Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 1999 film), I can register meeting a celebrity (Salman Khan) for the first time. I was like two or three or something, and he was like, 'Will you marry me?' and I said, ¡®No!¡¯"
The actor stated that at that young age, she clearly did not understand the concept of marriage and reacted with a 'No' to everything.
She added, "I still fangirl over O O Jaane Jaana (Salman's famous song from his 1998 film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya) so let's not even go there. I was about two years old! I said no to everything!"

Sharmin Segal In Heeramandi
Sharmin most recently appeared in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which is currently available on Netflix. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sharmin's uncle, directs the period drama based on the lives of courtesans in Lahore prior to partition.
Sharmin Segal played Manisha Koirala's youngest daughter, Alamzeb, who is about to make her debut as a courtesan in Heeramandi but ends up falling in love with a nawab.
The star-studded cast of Heeramandi, which has received accolades from both fans and celebs, also includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Richa Chadha in prominent roles.
