According to Bollywood Life, Salman, along with the makers of Sultan, have collectively made the decision.
"Whether Arijit plans to visit Salman's house for forgiveness or tries to convince him through social media, the decision is not going to change as everyone¡¯s clear that there's no place for Arijit in Sultan." - A source

But if you thought the emotional track which was to be crooned by Arijit has been deleted from the film, you're wrong. It will now be replaced with Salman's own version. The actor got enough praise for singing his last track "Main Hoon Hero Tera", and he's apparently already recorded the Sultan song.
The entire controversy between Salman and Arijit isn't something of this time. It all began three years back during an awards show when Arijit insulted Salman on stage. Ever since, he has been making constant attempts to resolve the issue with the actor. But, we hear, Bhai isn't ready to budge. Check out this video from the awards night. You'll know why taking panga with Bhai is the worst thing you can do in Bollywood!
