Oscars 2022: Tamil Movie ¡®Koozhangal¡¯ To Represent India In International Feature Film Category
Well, India has had a stroke of hard luck at the Oscars. It never won an award in this category. Only three films have made it to the shortlist, including Mehboob Khan¡¯s Mother India (1957), Mira Nair¡¯s Salaam Bombay! (1988) and Ashutosh Gowariker¡¯s Lagaan (2001).
Debutant Tamil film director PS Vinothraj's film 'Koozhangal (Pebbles)' has secured its place as India's official entry to Oscars 2022.
Starring Chellapandi and Karuththadaiyaan, the film will represent India in the International Feature Film category at the 94th Academy Awards.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under the Rowdy Pictures banner, the movie was also screened at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam held in the Netherlands in February 2021.

What is the movie about?
The Tamil language film follows an alcoholic, abusive husband who, after his long-suffering wife runs off, sets out with his young son to find her and bring her back.
