Did You Know Varun Dhawan AKA Pappu Wanted Anurag Kashyap And Not Karan Johar To Launch Him?
Varun Dhawan who is celebrating his 35th birthday today had once said that he would have given his right hand to be launched by Anurag Kashyap. Karan Johar wasn't his first choice.
From Student Of The Year to hits like Main Tera Hero, ABCD 2 and Judwaa 2 In all these years, Varun Dhawan has become the poster boy of Masala films. But do you know the genre he is interested in is quite different from the kind of movies he has done. While every star kid aims to get launched under the guidance of Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan wanted to be launched by Anurag Kashyap, who is known for movies like Black Friday, Dev. D and Gangs of Wasseypur among others.
Dhawan had once said that he would have done anything to be a part of Anurag Kashyap's film.

"Initially, my leaning was always towards the left side. I loved Anurag Kashyap¡¯s Black Friday (2007) and all of Sriram Raghavan¡¯s films. I was almost leaning towards there. I would have given my right hand at that time to be launched by Anurag Kashyap. I was excited to work there. Obviously, no one was taking me seriously then. I auditioned for Dhobi Ghat but didn¡¯t get the part," Varun was quoted as saying at IFFI 2018.
Not only that Varun Dhawan who is celebrating his 35th birthday had said that acting wasn't his first passion. He wanted to be a stand-up comedian.
"I initially wanted to own a [TV] channel where I could have my own talk show where I would do stand-up comedy, my own show." he added. Even David Dhawan had thought that his son, who has a degree in Business Management from the Nottingham Trent University, will work in a bank.

Katrina Kaif had revealed on Koffee With Karan, "Varun and Arjun Kapoor, they met me when I was 17. We were walking on a bandstand with Salman and a few of us 5-6 people. So, Varun was kind of checking me out. I have to say this, I normally don't say things like this but he was."
"He got into trouble (with Salman) and after that Varun and Arjun actually had a club and that club was 'I hate Katrina Kaif'. I am not joking. It was a hate club for me. They just hated me, for what reason, I don't know. I was walking minding my own business. Now, I know why Varun started the club, I don't know why Arjun joined in," she added.
