Vicky Kaushal Had Almost Rejected The Biggest Film Of His Career 'Uri'; Here's Why
Vicky Kaushal was shooting for Raazi when Uri was offered to him. He almost rejected the film, but then his father told him we making a mistake.
Vicky Kaushal had made the audiences sit back and notice him in every film he had appeared in. From his supporting role in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju to his boy-next-door character in Masaan, he proved his mettle in every film. However, it was only after Uri: The Surgical Strike that people saw a star in him. In no time, he achieved that feat too.
But did you know Kaushal was skeptical about doing the film and had almost rejected the film?
On Film Companion's Front Row chat, Kaushal said, ¡°Uri was something I was gonna skip. In the middle of shooting Raazi, I read the film, maybe I was tired, I went to work next day not feeling connected to it."

He said his father convinced him to do the film.
"My dad found the script & read it. He told me it will be the biggest mistake if I didn't do it. I asked for more time. Read the script again. And got really excited to do it."

The film was not only a blockbuster, it also took Vicky Kaushal's career to new heights immideatly. He is one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood. The fact that he replaced Irrfan Khan in Sardar Udham speaks volumes about his acting prowess. For the unversed, Irrfan Khan was the original choice for the film but he opted out of it owing to his ill health.
