Vicky Kaushal has dedicated his forthcoming movie Sardar Udham to Irrfan Khan. He says every scene and shot is a tribute to him.
"Every shot, every take of this film, is a tribute to Irrfan sir."
He said this on The Kapil Sharma Show and added that he loved the late actor a lot.
While talking to Archana Puran Singh, he said, "Ma'am actually, I am a big fan of Irrfan sir. I feel he's one of the finest actors in the world," he said, adding: "I feel that nobody can fit in his shoes, because not only the size but the quality of the shoe itself is unique."
Shoojit Sircar had first cast Irrfan Khan, who was a dear friend to him, in the titular role, but he opted out of the film owing to his ill-health. In conversation with Indiatimes, he shed light on why Irrfan was the perfect choice for this role and asked, ¡°How do you think Irrfan cannot do anything?"
"He was the only actor we had in the industry who could pull off any character - be it Piku, Namesake or Paan Singh Tomar. He would always bring a different dimension to the character. There was no other choice apart from him, especially after I worked with him Piku.¡±
