Video Shows BJP's Sonali Phogat Was Forced To Drink, Cops Confirm 'Meth' Was Given To Her

Sonali Phogat's death case is becoming murkier with each passing day. While it was earlier said that the former Bigg Boss contestant and the BJP leader died of a heart attack, now the details that have emerged say it was a murder.

A murder case has also been registered and five arrests have already been made.

Among the five arrested, one is a drug dealer who allegedly supplied drugs to another dealer who is already in custody and who supplied to Ms Phogat's associates, news agency PTI reported quoting officials. Apart from him, the owner of the restaurant where she was seen partying has also been arrested. Her associates Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh have been arrested and sent to 10 days of judicial custody.

The cops have also confirmed that Sonali was given methamphetamine (meth) drugs. She was forced to drink it at restaurant-cum-nightclub Curlie on Anjuna beach. She, however, instantly spit it out. The man in the video is Sudhir Sagwan

Sonali was very uncomfortable after she had it. She was unable to walk on her own, it said. Her associates took her to hotel Grand Leonny.

Meanwhile, Phogat's brother has claimed that she was repeatedly raped and blackmailed by her PA for years.

Rinku Dhaka, who resides in Fatehabad district of Haryana and is originally from the village of Bhuthan Kalant, said that his associates were after her wealth. They had mixed something in her food on Aug 22. Sonali, as per him, contact him and told him she was uneasy. He also said that a similar incident had happened three years ago when Sudhir fed her sedative-laced food three years ago and sexually assaulted her at his Hisar home.

"The cause of death due to the best of my knowledge and belief is reserved pending chemical analysis. Histopathology and serological reports of the tissues preserved," the report said.

"However, there are multiple blunt force injuries over the body. In view of the above, the manner of death is for the investigating officer to ascertain," it added.

Phogat, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana and found fame on TikTok, was brought dead to the St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna in North Goa district on August 23 morning. The cause was given as a "suspected heart attack", Later, a drug case was registered.
