Cracking Joke At Will Smith's India Visit, Vir Das Says He Can Learn To Slap Cases On Comedians
Vir Das cracks a joke on Will Smith's India visit. He says that the actor can learn from the country how not to slap with hands and slap court/legal cases on comedians instead.
Remember Munawar Faruqui spent over a month in jail for a joke he didn't even crack? Or that a BJP leader had registered a case again Vir Das after he posted a video 'I Come From 2 Indias' from his show at Washington's Kennedy Centre?
There have been many instances when comedians have faced ire for a joke they told. Chris Rock got slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars recently.
Now that Will Smith is in India, Vir Das said that he can learn to not slap with hands and slap legal cases on comedians instead.

"Welcome welcome," he wrote on a post that read, "Will Smith is in India? Good. He can learn to stop slapping comedians with his hands and start slapping them with legal cases."

After the uproar that Vir Das' I Come From Two Indias video had caused, he was not allowed to perform in Madhya Pradesh.
"We won¡¯t allow such jesters to perform. If he tenders an apology, we are going to think over it," Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra told PTI. Mishra also criticised those supporting him and said, "Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also defames India on foreign land.
MP Congress chief Kamal Nath also does it. Such type of people like him, I call them ¡®vidushak¡¯ (jester) would not be allowed to perform in the state. If he (Das) apologises, we are going to think over it"
Meanwhile, several celebrities including Richa Chadha and Hansal Mehta among others have come out in support of Vir Das.
