I've Been A Naxal, Leftist: Vivek Agnihotri Says JNU Brainwashes Students To Oppose Everything
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri claims Jawaharlal Nehru University brainwashes its students to oppose everything just for the sake of it.
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is all set to arrive with his upcoming series The Kashmir Files Unreported. The filmmaker always speaks his mind strongly and has equally faced the ire of criticism. Vivek recently revisited his days of being a student at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and spoke against it.
Asked if JNU shaped him, Vivek called his ¡®DNA¡¯ different and that he¡¯s not someone who¡¯ll be moulded by any institute.
Agnihotri told Firstpost, ¡°I also went to Harvard and there is a very famous saying, that this is the Harvard gate and they say, if a horse goes in a horse will come out. But if an ass goes in an ass will come out. So, the thing is, I don¡¯t think institutes can shape you and if it is happening, it¡¯s a failure on the part of the institute.¡±
¡°Institute should help you in critical thinking rather than shaping your mind in a certain direction.¡±
Vivek then went on to claim big and dissed JNU for brainwashing students. He said, ¡°This particular institute is creating certain kinds of students who think opposing everything just for the sake of it, is cool. Sometimes you need to do good for society and just being a critic just doesn¡¯t help.¡±
¡°I have been a Naxal too and a leftist and have very intense politics, but I have learnt one thing it is useless being a critic. You end up as a frustrated person and your contribution to society is nothing. I would say I have spent so much time in Bollywood and in JNU, but it didn¡¯t shape me in any way. I am who I am.¡±
Vivek sheds his opinion on the recent failure of Om Raut¡¯s Adipurush.
In a conversation with ETimes, Agnihotri expressed, "When you pick up stories of faith, either you should have 100% conviction or you should be well versed in the subject like a historian, but unfortunately, no one does that in India. If someone comes on screen and says, Hey I'm God, it doesn't make you God.¡±
¡°If you are being driven home drunk every night, you cannot turn around tomorrow and say I'm God, believe me. Nobody is going to believe that. People are not idiots."
With 7 flops and 1 hit, Vivek seems to be knowing Bollywood more than anyone. He who is just known for ¡®The Kashmir Files¡¯ will soon be seen helming ¡®The Vaccine War¡¯ and ¡®The Delhi Files¡¯.
