Kriti Sanon also joined the cast
The creators released a new teaser that ended all speculation and announced Kriti Sanon as the female lead, Mukti, opposite Dhanush's character, Shankar. Colour Yellow Productions uploaded the teaser footage on Instagram, which shows Kriti Sanon marching through a city combat while holding a can of petrol. She is seen dousing herself before sitting down and lighting a cigarette, tears in her eyes.
Along with the trailer, the makers disclosed the film's release date, which is November 28, 2025.
The film, written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, would delve deeper into the world of Raanjhanaa and have a new storyline. AR Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil have also contributed to the film's music. The film was produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar.
