8 Dead, Many Injured In Stampede At Travis Scott's Astroworld Music Festival In Houston
At least 8 people were killed and many others were injured in a stampede during the opening night of the Astroworld music festival on Friday in Houston. Houston fire chief Samuel Pena informed that the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage which created a lot of panic among people. The show was called off soon after casualties.

Houston fire chief Samuel Pena informed that the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage which created a lot of panic among people.
Samuel reportedly said that 17 people were taken to hospital, out if which 11 had cardiac arrest.
It is also reported that approximately 50,000 people had attended the festival

"We had at least eight confirmed fatalities and scores of individuals that were injured. The cause of death is unknown. A medical examiner would investigate". He even added that the identities of the deceased are yet to confirmed.
Houston Fire Department in his tweet mentioned, " If families have not heard from a loved one that attended this evenings Astroworld festival, a reunification center has been established at 8686 Kirby (Wyndam Hotel). A hotline has not been established at the moment".

The incident took place around 9pm on Friday night. The show was called off soon after casualties. It was a two-day music festival that was scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday. However, now the event has been cancelled due to the tragic incident.
