Ruchi Gujjar walked the Cannes red carpet in a gold lehenga designed by Roopa Sharmaa. The outfit was heavily embellished with traditional mirror work, Gota Patti, and detailed embroidery from Jaipur¡¯s artisanal traditions. The blouse, matching the lehenga, had a deep neckline with zardozi work, paired with a handcrafted Bandhani dupatta by Ram of Zaribari. "Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the soul of Rajasthan," said Ruchi in a statement. The dupatta included zardozi and Gota Patti details, representing the textile culture of the state.

The standout accessory in Ruchi¡¯s Cannes appearance was a necklace designed with the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The piece was crafted with traditional Rajasthani motifs, representing Modi¡¯s signature look. Speaking about the necklace, Ruchi said, "The necklace is more than jewellery¡ªit¡¯s a symbol of strength, vision, and India¡¯s rise on the world stage. By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights." She completed her look with matching jewellery, including earrings, maang tikka, bangles, and red alta on her hands.
Background and career journey
Ruchi Gujjar hails from Mehara Gujarwas Khetri village in Rajasthan and graduated from Maharani College in Jaipur. Coming from an army family, she later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. She is known for appearing in music videos such as Jab Tu Meri Na Rahi, Heli Mein Chor, and Ek Ladki alongside Aman Verma. Ruchi has previously spoken about the challenges she faced entering the entertainment industry, especially coming from a community where women are not traditionally encouraged to join Bollywood. ¡°It was difficult to change how people think about women working in Bollywood. I want to be an inspiration in our community,¡± she said. While her mother was initially hesitant about her career path, she is now proud of her achievements. Her father has been a constant supporter. Ruchi also expressed interest in acting in South Indian films, stating that she appreciates the support and admiration audiences have for that industry.
